The Urban Planning and Development Institute of the City of Pilsen is a state-funded organisation established by the Chartered City of Pilsen.

It is principally in charge of analytic documents, urban planning documentation, urban studies and documentation for sector-specific and zoning master plans, development studies and policy documents necessary for forming Pilsen´s development planning strategy, and the coordination of its objectives within the Greater Pilsen area.

The Urban Planning and Development Institute of the City of Pilsen also organises architectural competitions held by the city, presents the results of analyse of the city, development documents and objectives, and operates the technical library.
